In the second installment of KRC’s partnership with the DPO, their Brass Quintet played for the residents of Mary Irene Gardens on January 7, 2022. The lively crowd comprised about 70% of the residents. The repertoire was similar to the previous day’s and everyone enjoyed the banter amongst the five musicians. We learned a little history of each one’s music career; one got his start in a military band. While trying to explain how to play the trombone, Chad Arnow asked if anyone played a woodwind, and yes, we had a flautist in the room! One lady said that she just couldn't sit still during such fun music. The residents, musicians and the 6 KRC rotarians enjoyed refreshments provided by the facility. At the end, Kathy Lindahl announced that anyone can buy $5.00 tickets to performances of the orchestra, opera, and ballet. They are limited but call the box office at 937-228-3630. Thanks to Rotarian Bob Walsh for arranging the performance.
