Nicole Will was selected for the new position of Workforce Development Navigator for the Kettering City Schools.  Prior to this position, she spent 10 years as the Career Tech Center school counselor at Fairmont High School and worked very closely over that time with the STRIVE program.  She will describe the new position of Workforce Development Navigator and the goals for creating career awareness, exploration, exposure, and experiences for all K-12 students in Kettering City Schools.

Holly Elkins-Lopez is the education program manager of the Dayton Alzheimer's Association.  Alzheimer's and other dementias cause memory, thinking and behavior problems that interfere with daily living. Introduction to Alzheimer's is an educational awareness program designed by the Alzheimer's Association to help people recognize the impact of Alzheimer's, understand the risk factors and warning signs, as well as the free resources available for caregivers and families provided nationally and locally through the Alzheimer's Association.

Jim McCutcheon is the artist-in-residence in the University of Dayton department of music where he has taught for over 40 years.   Jim has performed with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, has toured England and Russia, and has performed in numerous artist series in communities in and around Ohio.  He has received the Ohio Governor's Award for Arts Education.

Bill Lindahl will discuss his career in Air Force and Dept of Defense intelligence, and present a slide show of some of his prize-winning photos.

Emily Broughton is the Director of Development and External Relations at Bottom Line. Based out of Boston, Bottom Line has opened a new office here in Dayton to assist first generation college student with applying for college.

Carolyn Stefanik is the Community Outreach Manager for the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts.  She will provide an overview of both the mandated and non-mandated services provided by the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts, as well as information about potential partnership opportunities between the Clerk’s office and businesses, schools, and community-based organizations.
 

Mitch Robbins is the Fire Chief of the Kettering Fire Department.  He has been with the Kettering Fire Department for 25 years and has been the Fire Chief since October 2, 2020.

Providential America is the title of the series of talks (13 so far) that I've written about unusual events beyond human influence which helped determine a favorable outcome for the American cause.  The title of my talk is "Broken Eggs at a Boston Fire," the story of how Samuel Adams escaped British capture before the Revolutionary War. 

The Little Exchange Fine Gifts is a nonprofit boutique located in Oakwood. Staffed by almost 90 volunteers, the shop has donated nearly $1.7 million to Dayton Children’s Hospital since its inception.

Sarah Hippensteel Hall, Manager of Communications, Outreach and Stewardship at The Miami Conservancy District, dives deep into the local water picture. Dr. Hall will discuss:

• Flood Protection Strategies: Learn about the Miami Conservancy District's work in safeguarding our community from flooding.
• The State of Our Water: Gain insights into current water conditions, including potential challenges and areas of concern.
• Rotary's Historical Role in Water Stewardship: Discover how the Kettering Rotary Club can partner with the Miami Conservancy District to promote water conservation and healthy watersheds through community service initiatives. 

Col. Cassie B Barlow, USAF (ret) last spoke at KRC in October 2023 as president of SOCHE (Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education). This time, Cassie will talk about Saluting Our Grandmas, Women of WWII, a book she wrote for young people that details the journey and adventures of a young lady from the Midwest into the WAVES* to contribute to her country’s efforts in WWII.  In addition, the book highlights the history of women in service from the very beginning. 

Bob will talk about Olympic Trap and Skeet Shooting.

Will Stansfield will tell you everything you want to know about how 3D Printing has developed, the very different methods and materials used and the amazing applications that are used in almost every industry. Did you know people can 3D print a house, medical devices, car parts, jigs and even food? Will will also be bringing in a small printer demonstrating a sample 'print' - so you can see the process up close. Join us for an interesting look on custom manufacturing that is taking industry and hobbiests by storm. 

Joyce Reid Kasprzak's affiliation with education began as a reading and language arts specialist in Dayton Parochial Schools from 1969 to 1973. She started working with the nonprofit Home Based Arts (HBA), now Children's Historical Publishing, as a volunteer in 2000 before becoming the Executive Director in 2006 after the passing of Founder William Bell. Before joining the organization, Joyce was the Founder and CEO of the Dayton/Toledo/Columbus region of The Diet Workshop for over 25 years. The national headquarters in Boston commended her franchise as the largest and most successful in the company's history. Honored by The New York Times for outstanding work incorporating weight loss programs, her innovation and vision won Dayton's Female Entrepreneur Award. In 2010, Joyce was recognized by the Dayton Daily News as one of the Top Ten Women for community contributions. Joyce received the Cardinal Bernardin Community Service Award in 2010. The Dayton Exchange Club presented her with the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2019. She continues to work as the Executive Director of Children's Historical Publishing, which has placed over 600,000 learning-activity books in the hands of minority and at-risk children. She is a respected member of the Education Committee for the American Heritage Foundation, Montgomery County Reentry Public Education & Advocacy Committee, and the Dayton Woman's Club. Joyce lives in Tipp City with her husband, Alan Kasprzak, and visits her son, Brian, in Los Angeles as often as possible.

Val Beerbower manages the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Sinclair College. Part of the Workforce Development team, Val oversees planning, execution, and recruitment for summer cohorts offered at the college. She obtained her journalism degree from Ohio University in 2006 and started her career on the editorial teams of newspapers and magazines before pivoting to PR and marketing … and then pivoting to economic development … and then pivoting to higher education. When she’s not assisting small business owners, she enjoys spending time with friends and neighbors in downtown Dayton. Bryan Suddith serves as the Deputy Director of the Montgomery County Veteran Services Commission. He has been with the Commission for 6 years. Bryan is responsible for leading the staff and managing both the operations and marketing of the Commission. Bryan is married to a United States Air Force Veteran, his wife of 27 years who served as a Lieutenant with the 45th Engineering Squadron in the Space Command. Bryan holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Dayton and has 12 total years in leadership with Montgomery County.
